Symbols Say A Thousand Words...

I've got one tattoo. It's pretty small and it is a Japanese symbol of "Love".There's a bit of a backstory and a lot of symbolism that goes into why I chose "Love" as my tattoo and why it's located on my right shoulder/upper back....but Iwon't get into that...

So today I'm looking over images for my next tat. I don't plan to actually get such tat until around the summer time (when my money should be less comical than it is now), but I like to look at possibilities every now and then. I'm perusing some Japanese symbols and fall upon this image:

Needless to say, it means, "I Love You". Unlike American culture, the Japanese have symbols that represent full sentences, rather than just one word. I thought this image was pretty ironic, no?

Your money = comical?

I thought you meant that you would wait until the summer time because then people would actually get to see it.

Interesting Japanese characters!

Kofi- My next tat will be on the inner part of one of my wrists, so I'm not worrying too much about "people getting to see it". They will. My money = comical = "my money is funny right now"...

I love the art but why not just write I love you or whatever in English in a cool script?

MJ: Now that would be a novel idea, wouldnt it?

But wouldnt it also devalue the whole "mystery" behind it?

.... Are you serious? This doesn't mean "love", let alone anything. This is a picture to sucker in those who really don't know the language. I just hope that your tattoo isn't as fake as this this supposed symbol. Brush up on your languages.

Oh trust...the Japanese tat I have that means 'Love' literally means LOVE lol. It is NOT this tat. I researched it a few days too before getting it to make SURE it didnt mean anything but that. :)

Of all of my tats, I only have one japanese symbol...the Love one. That's it. I just thought that this pic was funny. I hope no one gets it as a tat either lol

I grew up and went to school in Japan and I have never come across this supposed symbol that means "I love you."

Isn't that a picture of a guy taking a bitch up the rear?

Symbols are pretty awesome, as a fact my brother who likes to Order Viagra also knows how to make symbols with his hands.
